ASHLIE MILLER
Owner | Cosmetologist
Ashlie, the owner of the Prism Salon, moved to Houston in 2004 from Covington, LA. Although she initially had plans to pursue a career in the medical field, her life took a different turn when she had an eye opening dream. This powerful dream led her to withdraw from LSU and follow her passion for cosmetology.
Her interest in the beauty industry was sparked at a young age by her mother, who held a cosmetology license and had a small room in the garage where she would do hair for family and friends. Ashlie would often help her mother by sweeping the salon and became captivated by a poster displaying various hairstyles.
She attended Houston Community College, where she completed her cosmetology training and graduated with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in 2006. Over the years, she has acquired several certifications, including being a REDKEN Certified Haircolorist and obtaining the Babe Extension Certification for all methods.
Within the industry, Ashlie considers herself a jack of all trades, with a particular emphasis on color and education. She is always eager to expand her knowledge and stay updated with the latest trends and techniques. Her latest achievement was embarking on becoming a Redken Artist where she can use her passion for education to share with other cosmetologists.
As a hairstylist, Ashlie finds great fulfillment in being a part of her clients' lives. She has experienced pivotal moments in their lives from marriages, childbirth, illnesses, and being able to watch clients growing from children to young adults. Ashlie values the connections she forms with her clients and cherishes the opportunity to make a positive impact on their lives.
During her free time, Ashlie loves to travel and explore new places. However, her ultimate joy comes from spending quality time with her husband and daughter, Tim and Everlie.
With her passion, expertise, and dedication, Ashlie has created a welcoming and professional salon environment that is a safe space for stylist to continue to grow in the industry with nothing but support from her.
